To All the Cursillistas: De Colores! God, in his infinite love and care for his church, gives his graces and charismas to men and women in our midst who unfold for us his treasures. Cursillo has been an incredible gift to the universal church throughout the world, and I have experienced the benefit of it in my personal life since my childhood in mexico where my parents where deeply committed with the movement for many, many years with great joy. The Archdiocese of Seattle has enjoyed the wonderful Cursillo charisma for many years now and hundreds of families have been blessed with authentic endless peace; I pray the blessed Virgin Mary will give you the strength and docility to keep on ministering in our Archdiocese of Seattle for many years to come. Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Happy St. Patrick's Day! The peace and grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. I hope this letter finds you happy and in good health and that this Lenten season will continue our conversion (metanoia), which for many of us started at our Cursillo weekend, to become living witnesses of the Good News of Jesus Christ in our environments. Our Seattle Archdiocese Cursillo Movement continues to be blessed by the support of our clergy. Last April 2, 2011 our Cursillo community welcomed Archbishop J. Peter Sartain at our Super Ultreya 2011 which gathered close to 500 Cursillistas. Rev. Jim Picton, Pastor of St Madeleine Sophie Parish, became our new English Spiritual Director replacing Rev. Jim Dalton. Auxiliary Bishop Eusebio Elizondo and Deacon Anselmo Pardo continue to be strong supporters of our movement. The 2011 Super Ultreya was so well attended that we would like to make it an annual event. I am pleased to announce that our movement will celebrate the 2012 Super Ultreya on Saturday, June 2nd, 2011, 12-3 pm, at St. Madeleine Sophie Parish, Bellevue, WA; beginning with a Mass at noon. All Cursillistas are invited to participate of this event. Please join us and help us spread the word. Our movement desperately needs the participation of a new generation of Cursillistas at our School of Leaders (SOL) to help advance the work of Cursillo in our archdiocese. I ask you to prayerfully consider sharing your time and talents at our SOL to help us strengthen and re-energize our movement. If you are unable to join, please consider sponsoring and mentoring a new Cursillista who you believe could eventually become a strong leader in the movement. Should you have any questions, please contact me. I am extremely grateful and humbled by your responses to my 2011 letter which raised $3,115 and helped support Seattle Cursillo events throughout the year. I would like to ask you once again for a generous, tax-deductible donation to the Seattle Archdiocese Cursillo movement. Espero que esta Cuaresma continue nuestra conversión (metanoia) para ser testigos vivos del Evangelio de Jesucristo en nuestros ambientes. El movimiento de Cursillo de nuestra arquidiócesis está bendecido por el soporte de nuestro clero. El 2 de abril de 2011 cerca de 500 cursillistas le dimos la bienvenida al Arzobispo J. Peter Sartain en la Super Ultreya 2011. El Padre Jim Picton, párroco de St. Madeleine Sophie, aceptó ser el nuevo Director Espiritual en inglés remplazando al Padre Jim Dalton. Nuestros queridos Obispo Eusebio Elizondo y Diácono Anselmo Pardo continuan apoyando fuertemente al movimiento. La Super Ultreya 2011 fué tan popular que nos gustaría realizar este evento anualmente. Me place anunciar que celebraremos la Super Ultreya 2012 el sábado 2 de junio de 2011 de 12-3 pm en la Parroquia de San Madeleine Sophie, Bellevue, WA; empezando con una Misa a las 12 pm. Todos los cursillistas están invitados a participar de este evento. Por favor marcar tu calendario y ayúdanos a correr la voz. Nuestro movimiento necesita una nueva generación de Cursillistas que participe en nuestra escuela de dirigentes (EDD) para avanzar el movimiento en nuestra arquidiócesis.
