| Mar 18, 2008 | Healing for Nancy | Dear Brothers and Sisters, Unbelievably, Nancy is done at the Mayo Clinic. The specialist there confirms that she has autonomic failure which in some ways is like Parkinson’s disease. He gave her a new medication and said that it should begin to help in three days. However, she is leaving tomorrow to fly home to Los Angeles. So once again, we need a miracle to get her through those 15 transfers back into her own bed. Please pray that the miracle that occurred before, will occur again, through God’s mercy and grace. I appreciate your prayers as does Nancy. Thank you for all those who pray us along, who energize us with the fuel of prayer. |
| Mar 13, 2008: | Healing for Nancy |
Dear Brothers and Sisters, I am asking everyone to pray for a miracle for my friend Nancy as she tries to travel on Saturday, March 15th to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN to find out why her blood pressure is so low and drops by half when she stands up. For the last several years her blood pressure over all has gone down, in spite of heavy-duty medications and a high salt intake. A year ago she was driving and able to get out but tired easily. In September when I went to Los Angeles to see her, she was able to be in a wheel chair and get out a bit. When I was there last month, she was in bed all day because her blood pressure is just too low to get up. She passes out without warning when she stands up and her blood pressure drops. Even sitting causes it to drop some. The transfers made after she has been sitting in a wheel chair at the airport or on the plane will be even more difficult since her blood pressure will start from a lower point. I calculate that it will take 15 times of standing to make the transfers from her bed to the bed at the hotel attached to the Mayo Clinic. She is going to take extra medication but after a transfer, it takes 15-20 minutes for her blood pressure to come back up and she gets more and more tired each time. I really do not know how she will make 15 transfers in one day when she probably hasn’t done more than two or three a day. And if the airlines see her pass out after one of these transfers, they might deny her on the flight. Another unknown is if the change in cabin pressure will have any effect on the blood pressure. Aren’t we blessed to be able to just get up and go when ever we want to? I know that I take it for granted every day. She has two flights. One from Los Angeles to Minneapolis and another one from Minneapolis to Rochester. I am asking you to pray in a special way on Saturday, starting at 7:00a when she will likely leave for the airport. It really will take a miracle to get her to the Mayo Clinic where the world’s specialist in low blood pressure has a clinic. Everything possible has been done at the USC Hospital in LA with no idea as to why this is happening. Not only does she need to get there, but God needs to inspire this doctor to be able to find out why she is having this problem. A friend suggested special prayers to St. Luke, who was a physician but certainly, we need to ask the Great Physician to come to Nancy aid. Nancy is like a sister to me. We were college roommates, sorority sisters and she is the god-mother to my daughter Ali. She is an only child whose parents have both passed away. Her friend, Dick, will be traveling with her. He needs prayers too as he will be the one to decide it what she is doing is normal for her or if it is something else. I can’t thank you enough for taking this request seriously and finishing up your Lent with a big sacrifice for Nancy. I am attaching a picture of Nancy and Dick so you can attach a face to the need.
Blessings, Barbara God, our Father, accept the prayers and gifts we offer for our sick sister; Restore her to health and turn our anxiety for her into joy. We ask this in the name of Jesus the Lord. |
